PA Governor's School
In 2009, due to budgetary issues, it was decided that the Pennsylvania Governor’s Schools of Excellence would be cut. Two colleges have chosen to continue to offer programs that will replace the former Governor’s School programs that had been offered at their schools.
The programs are shown below. Both programs have a highly competitive selection process and are intended for superior students. The application process is lengthy and complicated. The cost for both programs is to be born by the student/family.
Lehigh University| Pennsylvania School for Global Entrepreneurship
Located in Bethlehem, PA, the Pennsylvania School for Global Entrepreneurship brings students together with international students from all regions of the world for a five-week residential learning experience.

University of Pittsburgh Health Career Scholars Academy
Health care is an important and changing world that offers a wide range of careers in scientific research, medicine, mental health, public health, social work, rehabilitation, and administration, to name a few. It is also a world that increasingly demands highly skilled and knowledgeable practitioners who are well versed in the economical, cultural and personal implications for consumers.
The University of Pittsburgh Health Career Scholars Academy introduces the students to the world of health care, emphasizing issues of primary care, prevention, public health, human growth and development, and areas of practice.
