Special Events, Activities and Awards that make Greensburg Central Catholic High School the best high school in America
*Congratulations to seniors Marissa Muffie, Daniel Sweeney and Kathyrn Feczko who received the Judge McCormick- Judge Pezze Awards for Artistic Merit in Visual Arts, Theatre and Music at the 12th Annual Awards Banquet. Judges McCormick and Pezze are both GCC Graduates.
*Congratulations to GCC Student Andrew Schlib, for placing 21st in the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure.
*Congratulations to performing arts students who participated in Westmoreland Night of the Stars at last evening(wednesday 5/5) at the Palace Theatre. 30 GCC Students participated both on stage and behind the scenes. The GCC performing arts department received $1,000.00 dollars for their participation.
Senior, Allison Petrillo was awarded the Esther M. Kocevar Scholarship. This $1,000.00
scholarship, named for the late Esther M. Kocevar, grandmother of Ryan Stana (CEO of RWS and Associates, New York and Hempfield Area HS graduate) is awarded annually to a deserving high school senior in Westmoreland County , Pennsylvania , to recognize, encourage and support talented high school students wishing to pursue an education and a career in the performing arts.
Allison is the FIRST recipient of this award. She will attend Shennandoah University where she will major in Musical Theatre.

*Congratulations to Maura Maher, who leads the state in goals for Girl's Lacrosse with 46 as of 4/23. Teammates, Hillary Weaver and Abbie Ringling are also top ten in the state for goals.
*Congratulations to GCC junior Jill Lantzy for being recommended to receive the Biology Award for Seton Hill University's Women in Science Day.
