Special Events, Activities and Awards that make Greensburg Central Catholic High School the best high school in America

*Congratulations to Anna Very who was named Senior High Grand Prize winner for the 2009 Creative Writing Competition at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire.  Anna will receive various prizes including a savings bond and a picnic day at the Faire for Anna and her family.  

*Congratulations to the three GCC WPIAL Swimmers, Stephanie Oleyar, Andrea Marko, and Emily Uhrin, that competed at Trees Pool on March 4th and 5th.  Andrea Marko finished first in the 100 Fly with a new WPIAL record (55.72), and first in 100 Backstroke (56.06). Andrea is now a seven time WPIAL Champion during her four years at GCC.  Stephanie Oleyar, placed 9th in the 200 Free and 13th in the 500 Free.  Emily Uhrin, a GCC Freshmen, placed 26th in the 100 Free.  Great Job Swimmers!

*Excellent performance by the cast and crew of Godspell.  The show has been complimented by all who attended. 

*Congratulations to the Academic Quiz Team.  Chris Clarke, Rooney Columbus, and Ethan Swan advanced to the semi-finals on Hometown High Q.  The team defeated Butler High School and will compete on Saturday, April 10th.  The team will also compete in the Westmoreland County Tournament on March 25th.
